We all had this subject back in school. But most of us are not interested in it. I have spoken to too many bright students of my time who unanimously said that history is one subject that is neither important nor interesting. They chose Physics, chemistry and math and so many other sciences, But I beg to differ. So, in this blog today let's take a look at what makes this subject so important.
Alright we all know that 2 and 2 is 4. We have all followed this '+' sign for centuries. But does anyone know who was the first user? Nope, and the funny part is nobody cares. That is the general idea. Let's look a little farther. Even in the pre-historic era animals used to have the capability of counting and addition. and since historic era crows were able to count how many lions took down a Gazelle behind a bush and then count them again when they came out again so it knew when it was safe for scavenging. This is just an example. Math and its associated basic functions at least were already in this world before the Human being discovered it and then called it an 'invention'. The reason being most of us are like our forefathers who were weak in their history.
History even as a subject is important at schools, because a 'school' is the place where a child builds his foundations. And i personally feel in any foundation of a new life there needs to be at least a brief knowledge of its past. As you grow in your academic career you will need more knowledge sometimes in schools to pass out the grade and sometimes for chit-chat with friends. Knowing about our forefathers is not only an important knowledge we gather. It's also a record of our ancestors in the strongest computer of all 'The Human Brain'. This helps us preserve our culture, practices and allows us to mould our lives around the basic principles of our ancestors. Because like it or not without culture there isn't much of a life. Imagine an Indian woman living the life of a western woman. How does it feel like? doesn't sound too good, does it? Indian woman are not necessarily lesser than there male counterparts. They are equal on a different scale. Their responsibilities are different from that of the man. And it is this difference that the women of India understand and respect. Which is one of the main reasons why our country probably has the lowest number of divorces in the world today. In contrast to the west. So, with this simple example we saw that preserving culture is important and vital. There are several other examples that I can list out to support this theory.
To preserve a culture you have to understand its history and how it came to being. What factors influenced it, and what has been done overtime to protect it. These three questions essentially make up the world history as it exists today. Every event in the history of the humans is in direct relation to one of these three questions. You can do a self-check with any event in history and try tally my theory here. I can call this mine because I have not read or heard about this definition of history anywhere. Tomorrow I will talk about more historical events in India and other countries to support my theory.
Until then.....enjoy life!
This particular Blog was originally a long thought of Idea. But never did materialize because of daily routines of life. Now, I have a chance to speak to the common man who uses internet about something I admire and cherish the most - History.

List of History based Movies
Hello Fellas,
Welcome to my Blog. Everybody has a different way of starting their blogs. So, why should I be different? I will start away with a list of movies based on history, historical events and historical personalities. Without getting into the details of the said subject. Let me just briefly tell you about movies.
Movies of late have transformed into a huge and effective medium to send across a message to the society that watches it. Gone are the days when people went to theaters for 'Time Pass'. Now is the era where movies are made to engage audiences to make them a part of the movie. The common man is the repetitive subject in most of the hollywood and bollywood movies these days. Yet, every now and again there comes a movie that changes the way you look at life. And most of these movies are based on history.
The Past gone by which is now known as history had a lot of events and personalities that changed the world over time. It changed the way people saw their world at the time. And now with all the technological advancements, it is being recreated to attract interest in the said events. I have made a list of movies that I know of that were based on history. I will not rank them coz that varies from person to person. I'll just simply list them out coz i couldn't find a list that satisfied me on the web.
I'll start with the recent movies first going on the late 1970's.

2. Mongols
3. Jodha Akbar
4.Troy
5.Asoka
6.The Legend of Bhagat Singh
